  • This piece was commisioned by the New World Symphony's Project BLUE in 2022, and performed in 2023. Bassoonist Eleni Katz, an old, dear friend, reached out about writing music to her poem, Enlaced Friendship, about how old friends come and go through your life, and the importance of that relationship as your life changes. 

    This piece is very dear to me. I wrote it with her and my friendship in mind- how colorful our world is together, and how much we love to sing together. This fits with how few pieces there are for these two instruments to play together, and how seldom they get to be lyrical in this context.
